Where is Apple Day Camp? Our beautiful 67-acre campus is conveniently located a few miles North of Riverhead's downtown at 298 Middle Road.
You may be surprised to learn just how close we are to you!!
How can I learn more? Please call (631) 369-0440 to schedule a tour of our campus or request more information. Otherwise, beginning in March, you can drop by unannounced on Sundays between 1pm and 4pm for walk-in tours with a Camp Director.
Check our web site often for updates on Open Houses and other informational events or e-mail us to join our mailing/e-mail list.
When should I register? Parents who enroll after 5/15 receive our regular competitive rates.
Our best rates are available to parents who make a deposit before 12/31, as the enrollments receive a 3% discount off of EarlyBird pricing.
If you miss the 12/31 deadline, be sure to make your deposit before 5/15 to receive EarlyBird rates.
How do I register?There are 5 easy ways to enroll.
Can I change my child's enrollment? Yes, you are free to make changes to your camper's enrollment through 6/13.
After 6/13, changes are SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY and a $75 processing fee applies.
Financial
What is your refund policy?
All refund requests must be made in writing. Deposits are fully refundable until 5/15. A fee of $100 per child will be deducted from cancellations occurring after 5/15. No refunds will be issued after 6/25.
A fee of $75 per child will be assessed for enrollment changes occurring after 6/1.
When are my payments due?
$250 is due upon enrollment. After your initial deposit is made, you will be invoiced for your remaining payments.
35% is due as of 6/1.
Full payment is due NO LATER than 6/23.
Are there discounts available?
When more than one child is enrolled from the same family, Apple Day Camp discounts 10% off the additional enrollment(s) (ie, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th child would also receive the discount). To receive this discount, applicable campers must be siblings.
Apple Day Camp has "EarlyBird Pricing" in effect until May 15th, which offer a savings of roughly 8%.
Are camper scholarships available?
Many employers offer such assistance. Check with your employer to see if any assistance opportunities exist. Also, Apple Day Camp is offering 4, two-week partial scholarships. Applications must be received no later than 5/15.
Awards will be made by our Board of Directors, no later than 6/1. All decisions are final.

Program
How do you select your staff?
Our camp only allows the highest caliber of individual to be a part of our camp team. Individuals must have successful experience workign with children. Prospective applicants undergo an intensive interview process and a background check that includes fingerprinting, work reference inquiries, and a check with the New York State Sex Offender Registry.
Most of our seasonal staff are referred to us by employees and we, generally, benefit from a high rate of returning counselors. Please visit our "Meet the Staff" page to view pictures and biographies of our Camp Directors and Counselors.
How often will my child be travelling?
Apple Day Camp is scheduled to travel 60% of the time. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are tentatively set as full-day trips. Half-day trips will be taken on Mondays and Fridays.
Travelling could be more or less than 60% in a given week, as the camp's schedule is "Subject to Change."
How will my child be grouped?
In most instances, campers will be placed in groups by age and gender.
At some points during the camp week, campers will be given their choice of activity. During these periods, campers will have the chance to interact with children of different ages.
What is Tiny Camp?
Tiny Camp is offered as a 3-day program on Monday, Tuesday, Friday from 9 - 12 each day, with some flexibility. (Sorry, transportation is not yet available for Tiny Camp.) Tiny Campers do not travel but they do get to enjoy on-campus activities, including: games, playtime, arts and crafts, snack, sports, goat and horse interaction, and guest visitors!!
This program provides a nurturing and supportive environment for 3 and 4 year olds who are not yet ready for full camp days. Separate facility space and our committed, experienced and specially trained adult staff will provide a caring environment for your Tiny Camper.
Are there programs for older children?
Our Counselor Trainee program is designed to help foster skills in young adults entering 9th or 10th grade that have a strong desire to work with children.
These campers are still supervised by adults and participate in the General program; however, they spend significant portions of their camp day assisting adult counselors with their duties.
Do you have Before/After Care?
This service is free between 8am and 4:30pm. For care beyond this time frame, there is an additional charge of $5.00/hour per day. With advance notice, drop-off may be as early as 6:30am and pick-up may be as late as 6:30pm.
Pricing Example: Your child attends camp for 6 full weeks and you pick her up at 4:50pm each day. The additional cost for After Care = $50 ($1.67 per day * 30 days of camp)
How does transportation work?
All Apple Day Camp Bus Drivers possess a valid Commercial Driver's license and are at least 21 year's of age. Additionally, Apple Day Camp performs background checks and continually assesses the driving skills of its drivers.
Currently, Apple Day Camp leases buses through Adelwerth Bus Corporation to meet its transportation needs.
Apple Day Camp counselors serve as Bus Aides to ensure bus safety while the camp is in-transit.
Tell me about doorstop busing.
For your convenience, Apple Day Camp offers pick-up and drop-off to and from your home as an extra additional service. The cost for this service is $60/week per child and it is available in Riverhead, Southold, Southampton, East Hampton and Brookhaven.
Cost may be higher beyond a 25-mile radius (East Hampton and Western Brookaven). Please call (631) 369-0440 for details.
Pick-up generall fals between 8am and 8:30am, but is dependent upon on your location along our bus route. Similarly, ddrop-off can vary but is generally between 4:30pm and 5pm.
